12. Zugerberg Loop

Starting from the Restaurant Vordergeissboden. Accessible either by car, with convenient parking available at Zugerberg parking, or via the Zugerberg Bahn from Schönegg, this route promises a mix of natural beauty and fun-filled stops along the way.

Setting off on smooth asphalt roads with minimal traffic, your journey kicks off with the inviting Schattwäldli playground—a perfect spot for a quick break and some playful exploration. Just before reaching the playground, you'll encounter the first station of the Zugiblubbi Adventure Trail, offering a peek into the excitement that lies ahead.

Continuing along the road, keep an eye out for more stops along the Adventure Trail, adding layers of discovery to your ride. Soon, you'll encounter the first major climb, rewarding your efforts with an exhilarating descent through the enchanting forest.

Emerging from the forest, the route leads you through the captivating Highmoore landscape. At Früebuel, veer right onto the gravel path heading northward, where the horizon unfolds to reveal breathtaking vistas of the majestic Rigi mountain and the sprawling flatlands beyond.

As you navigate the terrain, be sure to take the second left downhill onto the asphalt, followed by a satisfying climb up the gravel road. Your perseverance pays off with yet another awe-inspiring view, this time overlooking the serene waters of Lake Zug.

Winding through open roads and into the forest once more, you'll soon find yourself back at the junction. Here, you can either return to the starting point, enjoy another round of fun at the playground, or embark on a thrilling downhill journey to Zug. Note that the descent to Zug is quite steep and lengthy, so it's best suited for confident cyclists.
