16. Hünenberg See - Rotkreuz
- 11.2km
- 122m
This easy route starts and ends at Hunenberg Badi. This charming spot offers a perfect place to unwind after your ride, with convenient parking and easy access by train via the Zythus train station. Families will love the extensive children's area, complete with a paddling pool, a learning pool, and a non-swimmer section in the lake. There’s also a restaurant and clean facilities available.
The route primarily follows paved roads with gravel sections, presenting just one significant climb but no technical challenges. Your journey begins on a peaceful road, leaving the town towards the south, along the shores of Zugersee. You pass the golf park on a quaint, narrow road before reaching Rotkreuz. Here, you’ll ride through the new part of the town, with several spots for a refreshing break. We recommend Bäckerei Hug, which serves a variety of delicious cold and warm treats to satisfy any hunger.
Heading north out of town, the scenery transforms into open, rural landscapes, with fields stretching out around you. At Limmi Hütte, you can take another break and let the kids enjoy the playground with slides, swings, and a trampoline. After leaving the Hütte, you’ll face the only significant climb of the route—steep but short. At the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of Zugersee and Zugerberg before a gentle descent brings you back to Zugersee.
