This delightful route, stretching just shy of 20 kilometres, offers a perfect mix of ease and excitement with a mild ascent of over 140 meters. As you ride along, you’ll traverse smooth asphalt roads and sections of gravel paths. It’s an excellent pick for anyone eager for a longer ride. However, due to its length and moderate difficulty, this route is not recommended for children under the age of approximately 6 years or for bikes smaller than 20 inches.

You can kick off your journey either at Cham Hafen or at Hunenberg See by the Zythus train station.

Setting out from Cham Hafen, you’ll soon pass the historic St. Andreas Castle before gliding through the serene settings of Viellete Park, eventually leading you through the quiet streets of Hunenberg See and Cham. As you leave Cham, head north towards your first potential rest stop at the Lorzenparadies Playground in Hagendorn, a delightful spot for a break see location on the map

Further along the route, make a right at the Frauenthal Abbey, an enchanting site with a chapel and a monastery shop stocked with local products—a visit here is highly recommended.

The journey continues along fine gravel roads through picturesque farmland until you reach Maschwanden. Here, you turn right and begin your journey back, graced with magnificent views of the Alps. A few kilometres on, you’ll arrive in Niederwil, where a right turn towards Cham begins your ascent. After navigating a few bends and crossing over the motorway via a bridge, you’ll enter StadlerWald near Eizmoos. Just behind the forest, you’ll encounter the Schluecht Hof, featuring a playground and a local shop, perfect for another relaxing pause. From there, it’s a pleasant downhill ride back to the lake.
